In any given customer journey in D365 Marketing, the time zone field will display as “GMT +-00:00” all year round, despite the fact that between the end of March & and end of October each year, this time zone field should really be labelled as “GMT +01:00” to reflect the local Daylight Savings.
Example:
- In this example the client is based in Republic of Ireland:
o Between late October & late March they operate under GMT +00:00 .
o Between late March & late October they operate under IST i.e. GMT +01:00 .
- So, say for example it is the 1st of June 2021.
- If our client’s end users wanted an email to send from a Customer Journey to go at their local time of 3pm, this will send at 3pm local time as expected. We understand that Dynamics 365 Marketing will in the background automatically handle daylight savings timezone changes.
- However, the specific issue here is that that as it's the 1st of June 2021, currently at that time of year Ireland's time zone is currently GMT +01:00, however the "Time Zone" label in the any given customer journey will still reflect "GMT + 00:00" despite the fact that Daylight Savings is in effect on this date.
So the idea/suggestion here for future consideration in a future Dynamics release that will help prevent confusion for end users using D365 Marketing customer journeys, is can this time zone field display label be updated in a future release so that during daylight savings periods i.e. the label should reflect the actual correct time zone (e.g. it should reflect GMT + 01:00 in my example above).
