The current functionality for "Location license plate positioning" supports scenarios where the physical licenseplate is put and picked from the same physical side.
There are warehousing systems where the gravity racking system is replenished from one side, and picked from the other side.
This could be supported with the licenseplate positioning if it would be possible to sort on the license plate position in the location directives.
If sorting is not possible to add in the location directives action query, it should be possible to parameterize the order of the LP position sequence per location profile to be able to determine the ordering of the position assignment.

A gap we have experienced as well and would like to have a configurable option for.For now, we have solved it be restricting the storage to only allow material of a single expiration date in a flow rack lane, and then using the Expiration date to calculate the pick order from the rack. This is quite restrictive in regards to the space in the warehouse.

Exactly. Something like “Number LP in order of Put sequence” Would need to put some explanation that “standard sequencing assigns newly put LP as 1 and increments all current LP numbers by 1. Selecting “Yes” will assign each new license plate with an increment 1 greater than the previous LP.”
